R1800 and force GLOP using matte paper selection via Epson Driver?

I'm asking about this approach to getting the best color output out of my R1800 due to the knowledge of those that use different ink sets in their printers for optimal B&W output. I've printed out density charts using the various paper options in the latest Epson Driver for my R1800 to see what is the best paper/ink mode for Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper prior to printing out targets for profiling with an i1. I'm using MIS UC inks. Best result was with the paper selected as Premium Presentation Matte in the Epson driver with 2880 dpi. Two problems (both due to matte paper selection for a glossy paper) are with the driver using MK instead of PK, and the GLOP option being grayed out. It's easy to overcome the MK / PK ink use by swapping the ink cartridge positions and their chips. Will this be acceptable due to the ink / driver differences? Is there a way to force the application of GLOP with the matte paper selection? Or do I have to run the print through again as a white only file with a glossy paper and GLOP selected to add the GLOP? I can reprint with a white only file with glossy paper and GLOP selected, but only with GLOP as auto -- full won't print. Any suggestions with details would be appreciated. I'm on a Windows 7 64 bit machine using PS CS5. My other option is to use the Ultimate Premium Luster paper selection in the driver as it is a better choice than the Glossy and Semi Gloss paper selections when viewing the density charts. Thanks, Scott
