Multiple prints processing

2011-04-13 by KaFe

Hello,

I have not been able to figure out how to print multiple images at the same time using QTR, so I'm turning to the forum.

I am using an Epson 2200, 13" roll of paper (cutter on), and PSE as the image editor.

Say I want to print three panoramic images 4x12 and I want to arrange them side by side vertically so the roll paper usage is only 13x13, allowing for white borders around each picture.

So far the only workaround I could think of is creating a 13"x13" canvas in the image editor, layout my images as efficiently as possible, and save the layout as a TIFF to be then printed by QTR.

Is there a way to instead select the three images from withing QTR and then position them on the page (via print preview screen) before selecting my curves and hitting print? Even better, would be the possibility to assign a different curve to each print in the layout.

Thanks for the advice.

I don't know about the options on a Mac, but with Windows you need to do
layout in another editor as youi've done. I use Qimage for this, which
tries to automatically optimise the layout.

Adobe Lightroom has some nice layout features. I\u02bbm printing through Lightroom via QTR on 17" roll paper, sometimes with multiple images as you describe. No problem.

Right, and you can even give each image another printer profile in
Qimage. In case that has to be QTR profiles (curve based) you better use
the RGB version of them as I do not trust Qimage with the greyscle ones.
There was a time that I used Qimage in that fashion, print to file,
file saved in a hot map where QTR would be triggered to print right
away. You have to be carefull with the sizes, better give them some mm
margin.
