CGAT RGB translation of QTR's 21x4 random target

CGAT RGB translation of QTR's 21x4 random target

2011-04-14 by Ernst Dinkla

There is a possibility to bring QTR target definitions to the HP Z3200
printer Color Center target printing + spectrometer measuring and bring
the measurements to QTR's profile creator.

While you can drop QTR's target definitions in Measure Tool for use with
the Eye One measurements and HP says that the CGAT target definitions of
Profile Maker (aka Measure Tool) can be dropped in Color Center I have
some doubts that a direct drop of QTR target definitions in Color Center
will work. Greyscale values instead of RGB and the random lay-out is
not very defined in the QTR random target definition. Translating the
greyscale values to RGB ones isn't the problem but to keep the same
target lay-out and a related measurements file for use in QTR's profile
may proof more difficult.

Any suggestions?

Ernst,

I presume you are referring to QTR Create ICC?

If so, then I use my own targets and just sort input values into descending
order.
Note it seems to be happy to take RGB (0 - 255 x3) or Grayscale (0-255), or
density? (0 -100) values for input and L*ab for output.

I think it will take the input values in any order .. though I have not
tested this out extensively.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike,

Yes, that application.

Sorry, it isn't about what QTR Create ICC takes but what HP's Color
Center accepts for printing the target and making the measurements.

To get those measurements correct for QTR Create ICC is something I have
done more often, for example with the SpectroCam readingsm, so that will
not be a problem. The Z3200 Color Center measurements export is quite
flexible in formats.
