Problem with QTR

Problem with QTR

2011-05-09 by Michel

Hello !

This is my first post : I am a french advertising photographer, and I
like nice B&W, so I started to use QTR with many satisfactions : I get
much better resuls than with Epson driver !

My config is : Windows Seven / QTR gui 2.7.0 / Epson R2880 printer using
inkjetfly inks.

I have build my own curves, and everythings works well, except that the
first and/or last 2 cm are not correctly printed : I get lines without
ink. Printing the same file, but placing the picture in the middle of
the page give a correct print !

Parameters : Printer model : R2880 / Size A4 / portrait / 2880 /
bi-directionnal / Ordered

You can see a sample of scanned print at
http://www.mlepretre.com/divers/Qtr-Pb-02.jpg
<http://www.mlepretre.com/divers/Qtr-Pb-02.jpg> (I have increased
contrast intentionally)

Any help ?

Thanks,

Michel

many of us have run into this. The easiest solution is to make sure you have at least about 1/2" leading and trailing margins, even if you have to add them then trim off later. Haven't heard of an actual fix.

Thanks for your answer !

As I use frequently A4 paper, to avoid reducing the printing area, I use the following method :
On an A3 sheet of strong paper, I have drown an A4 frame, centered on the small side and starting at 30 mm from the beginig of the sheet.
I place some pieces of light double sided tape to keep the A4 sheet in place.
I load the file, selecting A4 size and checking Centered & To fit
I uncheck To fit and change the size to A3, uncheck Centered and Top = 30 and print

This works...

But I hope this will fixed !
