Well that did the trick Mike, thanks - unless I'd joined the forum there is no way I would have known about this problem.
Now I can see it is a comparatively easy task to progress from here with the Epson 2100 (2200) and the supplied Ultratone inks, as there is only Black and Light Black to consider, but I also need to set up curves for the Epson 1290 with MIS UT2 inks.
In Tom Moore's User Guide he says:-
"For Quadtone inks, this process is repeated for each lighter ink, comparing it to the next darker ink......."
The problem with the UT2 inks, which are the lighter and darker inks, as they are not all descending tones of grey - the Magenta and Light Magenta positions are a Sepia colour, Cyan and Light Cyan are a greyish blue and the Yellow position is a light brown ?
I think I need an example of the method of obtaining curves for the 1290 with UT2 inks. Perhaps someone out there has done it.
