SDS3 pads connector

SDS3 pads connector

2014-07-12 by alfpaches@...

Hi group!
Anyone know what type of DIN connector is valid to connect the SDS3 pads to the module?. I tried with a MIDI cable but only a couple of pads work in this way. Perhaps the pad piezzos are failing or maybe I need to connect the MIDI pins in a different way?.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried a simple DIN cable (old HIFI stuff) ?

Did you check continuity on all of your cable's pins? MIDI only uses 3 of the 5 pins. Some MIDI cables have all 5 pins wired through but most only have 3, the other 2 are left unconnected. DIN-SYNC cables should work fine; those use all 5 pins.

all my best,

Hello Alphonso,

the DIN is wired like this: the MIDDLE pin (labelled "2" on the connector) is ground, the other four are the pad inputs. This is different to MIDI, because MIDI uses only 3 pins.

Best

Michael

Thanks for the information Scott!.

I´ve spoken with Micha and he´ll make a connector to me. :)
