Hi folks/cynthia

i would just like to ask if anyone else has been suffering
gear lust or sleepless nights after seeing all the amazing and magic
cynthia stuff like tanpura / tabla modules, etc etc .I feel like i'm
looking in a shop window with no doorway in when i see all those
discontinued modules on the site , stuff advertised with even demos
just to add to the pain and yet you cant buy . . . its pure torture
cynthia . . . .pure torture.Such fanatstic ideas , the cynthia
website has begun to represent a depressing experience for me ,
whats worse then seeing gear you can never own or which is impossible
to source , the longing of all these lovely modules no longer made ,
of exotic electronic tanpura / tabla modules.I may need some form of
therapy to remove all these images of unavailable devices !shear
torture to a musician / gear love.shear torture......why phase out
every one of your exotic modules . . .psycho lfo , ran divide , the
list goes on . . . .I understand how you need the numbers to make the
batch worth while but surely these modules are worth making -
everyone of your phased out modules strikes me as more creative than
anything else on the market . . .please please someone help me find a
therapist . . .or all those discontinued modules ! . . ESPECIALLy the
Tanpura !

Am i the only one who fdrools over these well advertised / demoed
modules which you cant buy ? or did you all manage to ctach the
boat . . . ? many thanks for whats available and of course the zero
osc but have a thought for the gear heads who want your discontinued
stuff . . . can you maybe hide whats not for sale any longer so
others dont start to develope mental problems like me :)

Matt - considered yourself lucky you didn't actually buy something.
Daydreaming is much less painless. I made a significant order
with Cynthia a year and two months ago - paid in full mind you -
and I'm still waiting. Talk about anguish and frustration.
I've tried to be good about it but I am more pissed off than you can ever imagine.
Stick to window shopping - there's less heartbreak.

Re: re:sharing the pain of ' 'discontinued '

I just had an order fulfilled by Cyndustries that was placed Fall of
2005. I too was very frustrated by the turn-around time to get my order.

I try to be as patient as possible but spending large amounts of money
makes it hard to just sit and wait for years on end.

I sold my MOTM system and canceled all the remaining items I had on
order from Paul after waiting over 3 years for him to finish an order.
Heck he even discontinued a module I had on order rather than build it!

Anyway hang in there. I still have the prime and rhythmic dividers on
order and am hopefull they will show up before summer starts.

no offense, but if you think 14 months is a long time,
try 3 years...

sorry if i touched a nerve or caused any grief (not picking at cynthia's methods / i fully respect others feedback though ) .I guess the best idea is buy only whats in stock from cynthia and never deposit cash on unavailable stuff unless you are cool to wait or happy to maybe never recieve a product its discontinued whilst your cued ? feels a bit like russian roulette modular style . has anyone any feedback on how quick ' in stock ' stuff arrives from cynthia ?
Also does anyone have any feedback on how modcan are regards buying and waiting times, i have emailed bruce and got very quick replys and info and i know its all build to order again which is cool and theres a wait but has anyone any feedback on bruces system of working and how the customer fairs.
Much respect to cynthia and bruce ,. i'm just a potential buyer looking for feedback.

FWIW, when I've bought from Bruce I don't think I ever
had a wait longer than 8 weeks... and most times it
was a lot shorter than that.
