AETHERPHON, global theremin family

I forgot to introduce myself.

I am Carvin Knowles and I play theremin. I bought my
theremin in 1999 and my first gig was playing a giant
new-years-eve party in downtown L.A. that same year,
ushering in the "future" with the instrument of the
future. 

For the first several years, I mostly played with DJs
and have logged time with the Soulphonic Sound System,
The Syrups, DJ Bryan Corbet, DJ Chris Monaco, and The
Backyard Bangers. Once I played a wedding with the
famed DJ Z-Trip. My coolest show was one of my
smallest. I played to a small crowd in the "prayer
room" at the House of Blues, New Orleans in October of
2004 wit DJ Joelskool.

My style is both melodic and groovy. I don't have the
hand technique of Clara Rockmore, but I can still flow
a good melody.

When I'm not waving my hands in the air over my Big
Briar Etherwave, I write music for indy films and
documentaries. My most famous work plays while Jason
Biggs gets....um....busy with an apple pie.

In addition to theremin, I play brass, double reeds,
flute, guitars, bass, vintage synthesizers (I own two
old Moogs), Turkish ud, English lute and gong
and...well...whatevery I can get my hands on. 

I've only recorded a handful of theremin works. I keep
intending to do more but life gets busy.

I really love listening to theremin music. As the old
phrase goes, it sends me.
