OT: Spellbound is walking for Autism on October 9
2010-09-26 by David V
Hello, I'm walking in this year's Autism Walk. At least I hope I am. My boss still needs to confirm that I can have off that day. But anyway, I am raising money for autism research through the annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks event, which in St. Louis this year occurs on October 9. My "team" is fashioned Team Spellbound (after my Internet radio program, "Spellbound, a brief program of music for theremin") which last year just consisted of me and my daughter Maggie. But if you also want to walk with me, drop me a message. Walk Now for Autism Speaks is Spellbound's official charity. They raise money for autism research and support programs for parents with children with autism. You may or may not know, but my 10 year old son, Eric, was diagnosed with autism when he was 3. He is a charming kid who is just a normal 10 year old in some ways, but he has significant disabilities in speech, social skills, and emotional development. I have pages dedicated to him on the Spellbound and MotionGaming web sites. Our goal for Team Spellbound this year is $525, which is what we raised last year. I hope you might take the time to contribute $25 or more through Eric's personal Autism Speaks web page at http://www.kintera.org/faf/donorreg/donorpledge.asp?ievent=347295&supId=272075279&msource=boundlessfun Thanks for your support!
