I have over 300 that I shot. You're welcome to use all of them, but be
prepared for some HUGE emails.

I need to get home and access the computer for this...

How about posting them to something like Flickr?

Most of all I hope more folks can post their experiences and impressions.
I'm trying very hard not to feel old and bitter about missing it.

Thanks Philip, I'm so happy it went well and it all worked!

BTW, thanks for this idea. I knew Flickr was out there but really
didn't make the connection in my mind.

I've got some GOOD ones of all the celebs, including our own Kevin
Kissinger.

Is it okay to post these as they are celebs?

Please don't be bitter, John.

I've never been to this event or even met another thereminist. It
was the best trip me and Sheri have had together since our
honeymoon.

Sheri had about 10 minutes of one on one time with Lydia on Sunday.
I wonder if Sheri was talking about her crazy theremin-making
husband? I didn't interrupt and stood off well to the side as I
figured it was probably girl talk and the dynamics of the chat would
have radically changed if I had walked over and stood next to her.

My biggest and proudest moment was the praise Gabby received from
Lydia, both on her appearance and "she sounds nice". I have worked so
hard on this theremin over the past year and I have literally poured
the best of my engineering skills and my soul into it. To have it
come out less than it did would have broken my heart.

Damn, I cry when I talk serious about this stuff. I guess I've got it
in a bad way.

On preparing to leave our separate paths, I addressed several of the
thereminists as "brother".

Regards

Been eavesdropping on Levnet....and the reviews of the concerts aren't
good.

How does Flickr work? Do we all have to have seperate accounts or
will there be a shared Ethermusic account. I looked and I already
have a personal flickr account. If someone can explain how this all
works then I will upload my pics.

I don't know the legal answer to that... though you don't want to post
video or audio recordings without the artists' approval.

That is the reason that I am not on Levnet. I prefer to live in the
possible delusion that my music is good rather than to buy into
someone else's equally possible delusion that most theremin music,
including mine, is bad. (I say this without knowing of any of my
performances were discussed there.)

I experienced many moments of pure joy at Etherfest.

I already look forward to future Etherfest events.

All the best to one and all!

Frankly I have to disagree. Between some negative comments I also read nice things
and even high praise on Levnet for some of the concerts performances, written by some
of the most critical people who even only saw the concert on the internet.
I wish people would go to Levnet, read for themselves and draw their own conclusions.

greetings,
Jessica

The "celebs" at Hands Off were OK with having photos posted.

I concur, and note that one particularly critical person was
especially impressed by Kevin Kissinger.

From what I have seen of the concerts it is quite obvious that you
all had a completely brilliant time and there were some outstanding
performances, and even the not-quite-so-outstanding performances were
still darned good.

I hope that some of you were so enthused by the experience that
you'll want to do it all again -- in which case I'll see you in
Lippstadt.

Kevin

I like your music. I liked it before I met you.

Lets just say that some of the comments were over the top. No names
being mentioned, of course.

Thank you for passing this on, Gordon -- glad to hear that my concert
impressed some people -- even some critical folks.

I didn't get to finish my set -- in fact, only got through two songs
before my equipment started to go flakey on me. Fortunately, before
my set, Jason Danillo with Moog Music gave a "sneak preview" of their
new product: "The Moog Guitar". So, I asked if Jason would join me on
stage for an improv. I plugged my theremin into a d/i box, Jason
plugged in, another of Jason's band members joined in on sax -- and we
improvised a kind of sweet, spacy number that lasted 10-15 minutes (we
just stopped when it felt "right"). I was fortunate that these
excellent musicians were willing to jump in and save the show!

I felt really disappointed and frustrated when I went back to my room
-- so much preparation went into this and to have an equipment failure
was hard to bear. The next day, I was overwhelmed with the outpouring
of support from everyone. Folks liked my prepared works however they
seemed to be moved by the impromptu improv done on the fly.

The organizers felt for me, too. I was able to reconfigure my
equipment and they gave me a slot on Saturday to perform "Mummies and
Unholy Ghosts".

The concerts were all very enjoyable. The level of ingenuity and
musicianship was high. And, there were moments of exquisite beauty.
One performance in particular brought me to tears. I managed to dry my
eyes and regain composure by the time the show ended and the house
lights came up.

Music breaks down barriers and can fill the soul. I left Asheville
with many new friends, great memories, and fresh inspiration.

I wish you all could have been there.

I tend to not read Levnet anymore. Any merit to the criticisms, or more
along the lines of "I don't get it, it must be crap"?

Later theremineers!

Keep your nose to the ether and your pitch antenna to yourself.

I'll be in san fran this summer, so if you are in the area, you may want to invest in some good earplugs.

arf arf! Woof woof.
