Ok! I have to format with the HD connected directly to AKAI S1100, that's right. To do this I need to connect the HD in the internal SCSI IB103 connection with a ribbon.

I tell you: I did it. 'Cause an unknown reason the HD with the only power MODEX switch (external power PC supply) started to run, with the power MODEX switch ON and the SCSI connection through ribbon the HD didn't run. I put the terminator jumper on (only HD was on the SCSI chain), I configured the SCSI ID well (in 5), I put the external terminator on AKAI SCSI external conexion (term ON), all jumpers on HD has been checked about the HD manual.

Cause? I dont know.

I didn' t know about 2940 Ultra wide / SCSI I-II case. Anyway the host adapter didn't run alone on Pc. Must be faulty.

The order of chain is PLEXTOR ID3 (term ON), HD ID 5 on internal connection of SCSI host adapter ID 7, and on external the SCSI Mini 50 - Centronics wire to AKai ID6.

I have a question about term ON / OFF on IB103 internal SCSI , It must be terminated on external connection when I plug in a drive?
