S 1000 / S 1000PB use the memory boards of 2 MB as a standard (and 8MB size w/ a mod only).
There are no dip switches in the S1000/ S 1000PB for selection of 2 or 8MB memory cards,- instead, cutting lanes and soldering jumpers is necessary to use S 1000 w/ 8MB cards.
S 1000 options are:
IB-103 SCSI
IB 104 digital board
slot for DSP FX not available
no usage of SMPTE board
S 1100 converters are much better,- Burr-Brown ...
S 1100 has separate converters for single outs and main out
S 1100 doesn´t multiplex like S 1000 (there are not separate converters for single outs in S 1000)
S 1000 service manual and schematics are different from S 1100 documents.
S 1000 parts list is also different.

Hallo Kevin,
unfortunately I don't think that their the same :-(
Only things in common would be the RAM-, SCSI- and SMPTE-Boards.
I don't know, if the S1000 also had the DSP-board, which would be the same I guess.
The AD/DA section must be different, cause the S1100 used other converters (delta-sigma) than the S1000.
Maybe I'm off with my estimation, cause I never had a S1000.
It's just a guess...
Kind regards,

PS.: The schematics will be ready next weekend, for sure :-D
