\ufffd\ufffdI guess its to do with the S1000/s1100 not liking drives bigger than 1024mb.
S1000 and S1100 HDD size limit is 500MB !!!
...\ufffd they sound a little cardboardy ( I know what I mean :) , sort of flat and lifeless in comparison to the S1100.
S1100 is the only AKAI sampler coming w/ dedicated Burr-Brown converters for each single output incl. the main out,- all the other AKAI samplers multiplex.
IMO, S1100 is the best sounding AKAI sampler.
