It is a specific model of floppy drive which was also used in pc's.
Look around message 632. There we discussed the floppy replacement.
You can probably find them on ebay. If you do a search on 'floppy' in
this forum - you will probably find other entries.

SCSI? You will have to send your SCSI card to www.Route66studios. com

Well....I have to say that it's not just a simple
PC drive and chances are that drive found on ebay will not work either....sorry
but the Akai uses a vary special drive. There is also site with info that
tells you how to do a replacement by changing some of the drives
settings....this too is bogus and does not work.
