No idea what it is,- but I confirm, the test routines wont run in a
AKAI S-1100, OS v4.3 and 32 MB RAM.
My fully working S-1100 shows exactly this "bug" !
I have a 2nd S-100 w/ a lower OS installed (typing from my head it might
be v 1.3) and all the hardware test routines run fine w/ 32MB RAM.
I also have to mention, positive test results dont mean the sampler is
fully functional.
My 2nd S-1100, running all the test routines fine, has a fault Ive
never found up today.
It loads samples, editing of samples and programs as well as all other
operations w/ front panel controls and display work.
But theres simply no sound except a very low level click, audible w/
earphones only when pressing a key to play a sample or program or using
the play button on the samplers front panel.
But all the test routines are perfect incl. DAC, converters and memory
cards.
I also have the digital I/O (IB-104) board installed in both machines.
Meanwhile I recognized by random, if I hit a specific parameter of the
FX (card),- it freezes the machine.
