SCSI Zip Drives/Cables

2005-07-25 by tehronporter

Can someone tell me what other kind of cable I need to hook my Iomega
zip drive up to my S1000's scsi port? The cable that came with the zip
drive isn't the right kind. What kind of cable do I need?

You need a SCSI cable and a SCSI ZIP drive.

I don not know much about SCSI, but I know there are two types
of connectors. I do not know their names, but the akai s1100 needs a
50-pin type SCSI.
If so, you probably need a cable with two different connectors, the
zipdrive will probably be the more regularly 25-pin type (like D-sub).

Look for secondhand, many people throw away their SCSI stuff,
good luck,
guido.

That is also called a SCSI 1 connector. I would check with COMPUSA or Tiger
Direct. Also ubid.com has a lot of older computer parts.
