I got a replacement inverter ( the grey plastic box)
from Cimple Solutions, probably a salvaged one from
another dissimilar Akai model, it was mounted on a
diffent type of board, which needed reasonable skill
to remove and transplant, not really DIY. It was a bit
pricy too. Works great.
Backlight failure seemed to have killed the old
inverter, so a new backlight too, about 30 euros from
midi-rakete.de, who are brilliant.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the floppies are a very
common but now obsolete type, I tried a few from my
parts box and they were all suitable, but it was
18months ago and I'm not sure where they are now in
the pile of stuff.
Here in the UK,used S series are so cheap nobody is
bothering with repair I guess.
