Not at all... Handshaking is provided for a future firmware programming app that will maximise the speed. But I really should have realised that P3 should ignore it's own 'ack' message, for exactly the situation you encountered. I'll modify that behaviour in future bootloader versions to make it more obvious when a midi loop exists. > And what a prize! > Paul blew me away with it when he took me through it all last weekend.
