> After struggling with midi-ox (I cant figure it out!) MidiOX has rather a lot of features, so it can be hard to find what you need. Make sure you only have the output from the PC running to the P3's input. Don't feed the P3's output back into your PC in case you get a loop. Start MidiOX, click on 'Options', 'Midi Devices...' and check the midi output you want to use is highlighted in the list. Then click 'OK', and choose 'View', 'SysEx...' From there, choose 'SysEx', 'Configure...'. Make sure 'Delay after F7' has the checkbox ticked, and set the delay to 100 milliseconds. 'OK' that, then choose 'File', 'Send Sysex file...'. Then just locate and confirm the syx file for the firmware, and off it should go... > I used > cakewalk to do the dump.. too fast it seems as I got the "BAD DATA!" > message. I then tried to send it from Logic (much slower) but now > when I switch on with func+page I get "CHK FAIL=FAE1". After you transmitted the dump from Logic, did the display show the flash had been succesfully written ? It should show "sizeE300 chkA672" for the most recent build. If it fails you'd get "Code CHK Error!", with "restart" on F2. I uploaded an AVI of a successful flashing to the Yahoo files section, if it's any help. > Sometimes I > get "boot flash", so I press F3 - the screen goes blank, It shouldn't go blank. It should display "Start F/W TX Now" It could be you have a corrupt bootblock, or possibly a wiring problem with the display module though that seems unlikely. If you want to send me the CPU I'll check it out for you. I'm off to Synth DIY in Cambridge next weekend, so you'd need to get it to me quick if you want it back next week. Cheers, Colin f
