The SDD display is a 20x2 - called a PDC2002M where I get them, but again
the crystalfontz part is exactly the same thing.
The contrast control needs a little modification - for the stock SDD
display, it's just a variable resistance to ground, with a fixed resistor in
parallel. I had to remove the fixed resistor, and add a jumper to 5 volts,
to make the contrast control act as a brightness control. There are pads for
the 5 volt jumper on the board - Korg must have had different displays in
mind.
Also, be careful not to tighten the display mounting screws too tight. And
have fun getting inside - those things are well built !
