my Quasimidi 309 has 3 knob-modes; immediate, pass-through and
relative. personally i prefer the relative mode, where the stored
value is translated to the current knob position and the range to the
left or right of the stored value is translated to the remaining range
to the left or right of the current knob-position. It can be weird
when for example you have a stored value of 100 and the knob's current
position is something like 10, as the 0-99 range of the stored value
is then squeezed into the 0-9 range of the knob's current position and
vice versa, but for me it's still better than pass-through or
immediate modes.
