Rotary encoders / 360 deg pots would solve all these problems ....

FUNC + knob turn = coarse adjust
knob turn = fine adjust
one click = query value on display without adjusting ?

IMO, the lack of visual feedback you get with rotary encoders is no worse than the invalid 
visual feedback you get from a mismatch between the current and stored value.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
