I think you missed my point.  I have tons of midi control surfaces, 
it is just that most plugins use a "learn" feature to set up 
automation.  Since the P3 doesn't have a means to send a controller 
and the plugin won't generally let me assign it directly, I have to 
use a MIDI control surface just to hook up the automation to be 
driven by the P3.  I just wanted someway to send the controller long 
enough for the learn functions of plugins to cathc it and hook it 
up.  Something as simple as pressing a button to just send the 
current value and controller message for a moment would even 
suffice.  I'm not looking for realtime control, just the ability to 
broadcast the controller so that plugins can be used more 
efficiently.

Colin, would something like this be possible?  A button press that 
would just send a MIDI message of the currently selected aux event 
and value for a moment?  This would solve this problem I think.
