I would say that the Octopus and Schrittmacher are much more "sophisticated" then the MAQ... of course the price reflects that just like in the P3... Just in the last year, a list member had troubles selling their home built P3 for $750 on ebay, so it's a matter of looking and waiting with your money. Now for me, I price my P3 at well above the current going Ebay price, because I can't replace it.... so it's value to me is equal to or more then an Octopus. So I don't think that's artificial. It's reality. If my P3 wasn't there, THAT would be very real to me. And remember, every wish that Colin adds on, is a raise in the price (if it's hardware related).... so if Price is your concern, then you will want Less features for the P4. I really doubt the P4 will cost the same or less then the Cyclus3 or Revolution or even a MAQ... now of course Colin can prove us all wrong, but I really doubt the P4 will be costing $750 or less like the Sequencers you listed...
