That can happen if you have your sysex app configured so that the handshake
response from P3 to each block is soft-thru'ed back to P3.
Try doing it with just the midi out from your PC connected to the midi in on
P3, and no return lead.
What app are you using ? Midiox ?
You also need to be sure there is a delay of around 100ms between sysex
blocks to give P3 a chance to write each flash block.

Cheers,

I am setting the P3 in "Sysex receive mode", using under Mac OS9
"Sysexloader", only one midicable to the P3 midi in attached, and as soon as I
hit "send" a "bad block" message appears...

HELP!

Bring it to me then. It worked before.

You don't have access to a PC I suppose? MIDI OX and a decent MIDI
interface capable of handling sysex should be all you need. I'm afraid
I don't really know anything about Macs, other than you need them when
it's raining... 8-)

Sorry, wish I could think of something. You hit F3 and as soon as you
start to send, you get this? Right away or does it get any data at
all?

Is this where I put my head above the parapet and wonder if it's a
problem with the opto biasing again? Perhaps 6N139 was working
on the edge before when Robert successfully did sysex loads on this
unit.

I only mention it because this is exactly the problem I had, which was
cured by replacing the 6N139 opto.
