oo..agreeing with Paul again on this one. 'accumulator continue' 
would be cool, but the option to reset the accumulator on a part 
change is useful too...both in the same bank preferably. maybe some 
sort of AUX-event that would tell an accumulator to continue or reset?

I'm not sure if there's an easy way to make the reset behaviour more
flexible than it is. You can always use repeated playlist steps with the
same pattern.
I had been thinking about using a spare bit in the aux config storage in
each pattern for 'accumulator continue' - this would defeat the normal
accumulator reset on a new pattern selection.
