There's an indirect way to do that - if you go into playlist edit and press
F1 to will hold the playlist.
Then you can edit the current pattern from there, and the playlist still
wont advance.

To add this as a simple option to pattern edit mode wouldn't take long,
since there are already the necessary flags to hold each playlist.
But there's not really an obvious key combination left for it, and I'd
rather not add another page of softkeys.
Let me think about it and see what I come up with, unless you have a good
suggestion how it should be done...

Only play current pattern

2004-11-18 by Jesper

Can I tell the sequencer to only play the pattern currently being edited
(and not cycle through the rest of the patterns in the playlist)?
When I have a playlist with four different patterns and want to work on
only one of the patterns (while the sequencer is running), I have to wait x
cycles to hear my edits.

Jesper.

i'd appreciate this too... i've been doing a lot with playlists lately,
and i've found that by the time you get into playlist edit to hold or
un-hold the pattern, the point in the pattern where it makes sense to do
this has already gone by until the next repeat.

how about holding down both FUNC and PLAY/EDIT? i know tapping P/E gives
access to mutes, so holding it down for a bit could hold/release the
playlist step. another option would be to hold down both keys and hit a
track key to hold/unhold a selected track.... tracks with no hold would be
displayed as green LEDs, while tracks with held playlists would have red
LEDs.

would either of those work?

P4 will really need its own playlist key. :)

bleep.
out.

This works very well and is all I need, but:
Would it be possible to add a "Hold all" option ("Adv", "Hold", "Hold
All"), that does the same for all playlists?

Not needed now, but thanks anayway :)

Put it into hold then do the edit. I think that should work.
