My lenght note mode,please!

2005-05-26 by turbotron69

Hi;

Dear Colin, sorry to insist about my mode. I´ve been out for some time..
Could you program this please?

Hi;

yes, like the mc 202, it was your press once or the rounded button more on
the left, that step is 16, you press the next one ot twice ,32, and so
on.... but the sequence must be automatically close when you reach a exact
pattern ( or half) as a cool option ( like the TB)

it could be amazing for semi random sequences

Please...

best;

Hans

I've thought about this, but it's difficult to fit in around the way P3
works internally.
It would need to rely on using an aux event to set the tbase (i.e. note
length) for each step, with last step automatically calculated to adjust the
pattern length.

Another way to do it would be to start with tbase set to the shortest note
length, and provide a way to enter notes and extend them across steps with
ties. I'm going to add a tie soft-key to the arpeggio capture / step input
mode for this.
It will let you enter notes from a midi keyboard in step time, and press the
repeat key to copy the most recent note to the next step, tied to the
previous. I can't really remember how the 202 worked, I sold mine years ago,
but I think this will be along similar lines.

Cheers,
Colin f

Thanks Colin, it was returned by my server so I was wondering about your
answer.

202 works; First you enter teh line of pitch ( assigned by the default lenght )

After that you go to lenght mode, and select every note lenght by pressing
numbers or the rubber pad with the note simbol (8) ( similar to the tb but with
16,32,8, etc.

3 and cool mode ( only efective when you have selected env to gate) you
select the gate to to ties etc...

I would like just to select lenght mode by pressing several times the rounded
buttons or a way that we can find out..

Cool? just in a seconds you enter pitches, go to the lenght mode,press
serveral times some buttons and voila hyper cool non arpegiated way all
notes same sequences..

Hans

Hi, ok cool, Let´s wait for it.

One thing more, on the 202 , the sequence doesn´t close when you reach half or a full
pattern. To do it you had to do another sequence with four notes ( 96 or so) on the second
channel, it was my trick to be able to sync my old xox set.
