It would need some extra hardware on the mainboard for that. The CPU only
has a single serial interface.
It's possible at some time I might work out a way to add the extra
circuitry, but not a top priority at the moment.

The Sculpt function allows you to write in values with the DATA knob as the
sequence plays.
You hold the 'note' or 'upper' softkey while tweaking the knob, but if you
just leave it still, the same value will quickly go into all steps.

One solution for that would be a pass-through knob mode, or relative mode.
I haven't been pestered enough to do either of those yet (ducks).

In VU mode, on group shows odd track velocities, the other shows even.
All velocities get added together, and as the result passes different
thresholds, more LEDs light.
Pressing STEP MODE will toggle through some other LED modes, one showing
Gbar beat position, the other showing the countdown to Gbar reset in binary
(easier to follow than it might sound...)

No problem ;-)

wish midi out a b c d like mpc 60/3000 and . . .

2005-12-02 by sad1robot@aol.com

ive bugged colin about this already . .

separate midi outs A B C D like the akai mpc 60/3000 would
be So nice. after all there is 4 midi outs on the p3 hint hint.

Is there a function that enables you to trim all 16 knobs with
just one pot all at once?

for example .. twising the top row for a new velocity . .
and all 16 are applied.

does this already exist and i cant find it in the manual?

also, when touching a knob for note selection . . it always
seems to jump to a different note
just by slightly touching it .. its frustrating if ive forgotten
what note it was ( it happens and i dont smoke pot) i have to hit
the LOSE and start over . . i know the evolver by dave smith
uses dentented pots. so one click . .and it puts that pot
into program mode but Doesnt change the the paramter until the
next Click .. the P3 seems to wildly jump thru the notes. im still
a total novice barley scratching the p3 surface .I am using it it
basically like My Arp 1623 seq's . a big jump having memory
settings!

last but not least .. the led level Meters.
are they arbitrary? ive not yet figured out exactly What they
monitor. track 1 & 2's midi velocity? and they stop working if the
velocity is lower than say 50??? they 've seemed to be a
bit intermitent. . or maybe i am?

anyone using a syntecno teebee with a p3??
im trying to get my hands on one. . if not im going to do colins
303 mod to one of my 303's. . (the one with more scratches and
sticky switches :)

the P3 always leaves me with my jaw dropped in awe.
thanks colin!

ow yeah... I've been meaning to ask but I keep forgetting; would it be
possible to have the "countdown to Gbar reset"-mode as the default for
the LED modes? I thought it was weird at first but I've been using it
lots lately, and it'd be cool not to have to set it back to the
'countdown'-mode manually every time I come back to play-mode from
pattern/playlist-edit modes.

One solution for that would be a pass-through knob mode, or relative mode.

I'd be very interested in a way around this myself Colin
