Mute function

Mute function

2006-06-26 by eigentone2000

hello everybody,

is there a possibility that a muted track plays its current pattern to
the end. at the moment the sound stops as soon "mute" is pressed.
would make live situations easier for me.
I hope you know what I mean...

cheers,

mario

well, that's a good way how to do it, but not very flexible.
I would prefer a user configuration, which determines the behaviour of
the muting, but this is not in our hands.
I have to practice!
thank you paul.

I find the easiest way to do this is to copy the part to another then
mute the track on the second part. Now when the first part is playing,
select the second part and when it switches at the end of the current
global bar, the track then mutes automatically on cue.

With practice I find I can mute and unmute tracks quite accurately on
the beat too but above method is pretty slick and much easier at fast
BPMs. Hope this helps.

This is sort of the inverse of what the 'arm' function does, so maybe it
could be added as the behaviour for a track that is armed while active.
I'll think about it next time I'm programming.
