Help programing bcf/bcr2000 with ableton Live, need some direction

2008-11-06 by johnnyt5646

i have just purchased a bcr2000 and bcf2000. i made the choice because of price and how it
can be used with many daws and dj programs. i need to know how to program my own
cusotm presets for ableton live 6. i want to use it for djing. i have tried the mackie
emulation and the presets that are found here. i like some of the features of the presets with
the mackie emulation but want to customize the units for my own workflow taking some of
the fader, button and knob settings and incorporate them with my workflow. my question
what is the easiest way to program the units. i have heard of python programing. bcmanager
bomes midi translator etc. all these options, what is the best, what is the easiest, what is the
most powerful. what route to go. i want such options as when you press one of the buttons
on the top row they will change the options of the encoders. kinda like the encoder group
buttons but for all the encoders. how to program a shift button. scrolling through the song
to set loops, scrolling through clips and scenes. i have a lot i want to learn, i just want to be
pointed in the correct direction and waste the least amount of time in doing so. i use a mac
running osx 10.5 i also can run windows via vmware fusion or i have a desktop running xp.
if i have left something out please let me know. sorry if you have received questions like this
before. i just have been researching this topic and have come up with so many options. im
just confused. thank you for everybodys help

John
