You could touch each solder point (on the encoder), with the hot soldering iron. Basically, just reflow the solder on each of those lugs. That might make a difference. Or order a new encoder and solder it in. How many of these things do you have? I agree the construction is not the best, but with a little soldering or tinkering on the inside you should be able to fix most things... I had my power switch break, let loose on me. Meaning it is no longer connected to the metal, I will go in and reglue it when I get around to it. If it is not under warranty, what have you to loose? Thanks for the help. I presume that if I dissessemble the unit, I should be able to re-solder the contact? Perhaps youcould give us the parameters you have set it up with.Another check you might like to do is to push the knob to the side andhold it while you twist it. Try holding in different directions.Sometimes not all the connections on the encoder are successfullysoldered during manufacture and a small amount of pressure will causemovement and will make/break the connection on one of the lugs. All the bestRoyce>My top left encoder is acting very strangely, and I am assuming it isa hardware fault.> >Rather than smoothly controlling the parameter itis assigned too, such as the pan, it moves it in a very jerky fashion. So when I scross right to left, the pan will move eratically, and infact sometimes make small movements in the opposite direction. Theacceleration on it is also messed up, and it is impossible to make anentire sweet with one quick twist.> >I don't know if anyone else hashad a similar issue, and whether there is any chance it can be fixed?>>I'm assuming I need a whole new BCR :(> >James.> > > Get Windows Live Messenger on your Mobile.
