Re: overlay blanks
2016-06-03 by danielhesse1@...
I would like to reactivate this thread - has anybody found a solution or source for blank BCR overlays in the meantime? Please let me know.
If not, and if you are interested in this, drop me a message - I am currently looking into this.
Aim:
I am looking for overlays that can be quickly exchanged, so that you can have an overlay for each preset (rather than something to be glued to the surface). cut-outs for buttons and knobs should be tight and precise (machine cut) so that the buttons act as fixing points for the overlay (and stop it from moving). There are currently two thought options:
Option 1: Overlay made of thick paper / thin cardboard (e.g. 300g/m2). Labeling could be easily by directly writing on it, potentially even printing (not sure if normal printers can handle card board with cut-outs). Target price < 5 EUR per piece.
Option 2: Overlay made of thick plastic foil / thin plastic sheet. Potentially transparent. Labeling would need to be done via additional stickers or sticky labels. More durable than Option 1, but also more expensive. Target price < 10 EUR per piece.
I have contacted a couple of companies and will keep you posted on the outcome (i.e. if target prices are feasible...). In any case, any thoughts or feedback would be highly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance and best regards,
Daniel
