There are 4 buttons, each of which represents a "group".
e.g. when button 1 is pressed the top row of 8 knobs and 8 buttons have one set of functions (as assigned by the user)....say knob 3 is a panning knob
when button 2 is pressed the top row of 8 knobs and 8 buttons have ANOTHER set of functions .......eg. knob 3 is now scrub wheel.
Make sense?

can you switch from mode to mode with a press of a button to access
different functions quickly?

they can have 4 functions each. (However, if you run it in Mackie
emulation mode EVERY button has 3 functions. Though you can't edit
them yourself!)

to only the top row of 8 knobs/8buttons being reassignable - though
you need to check on this, as i don't own one.
