We are starting to get a few of these problems. Have you trashed the flash ? Does it startup now? If it doesn't you will need to open it up and reprogram the flash with a programmer. What I would do... (possibly stuff you have already tried, but...) Try another USB cable from a bidirectional unit you know works (e.g. modern printer that shows ink levels) Try your BCR USB cable on the device so we can really rule it out. Still not OK Put the BCR into stand alone mode (Hold 'exit', press 'store' turn knob top left until the display shows S-1) Use a Midi interface and MidiOx to check if it works via the Midi port (make sure the Midi cables are OK). Fixed, then it is a USB problem -> Software - completely remove the driver (PC or Mac?) then re-install it not just overwrite it. Not fixed, then it is not just the USB Possibly corrupted Flash. Reload the flash using Midi in S-1 mode. There is a mode "Learn" & "Store" while powering up. Shows 'LOAd" on the display. Does anyone know how to use this? Still not OK Back to the store for a warranty claim. Out of warranty. Open it and look for 'not so good solder joints' around the usb connector on the CPU board As the unit warms the joint could be expanding and breaking contact. These problems will pass inspection and only show up when purchased. Break the hot glue an push the flash chip into the socket. Let me know how you get on Royce
