1. plug it to your PC with the included USB cable
2. as soon as it gets detected by your PC update the MIDI driver to v.1.1.1.0

its ready to use now

> it doesnt mention what firmware is installed inside?

when you switch the device on, it shows currently installed FW version in its LCD display.
BCManager will also give you that version info.

use BCMANGER to set up templates.
And read BCManagers manual instead of the Behringer manual ;)

use one of the emulation modes... i think mackie emulation is best...
read that:
http://www.behringerdownload.de/BCF2000/BCF2000_Emulation_modes.pdf

and of course you could have a look at the links i gave you to your last post...

thanks stefan . finally connected the bcf as u said and updated the
firmware from 1.03 to 1.10 and also the usb driver. and switched my
bcf2000 ON on MMC mode

i tried setting up mackie control in cubase sx device set up under
remote controller and chose bcf2000(05) in the input and output. and
then loaded a cpr file . the faders responded. but only for audio
tracks i was able to use the faders . the vst plugins i used didnt
respond at all.....

what about loading the cubase preset given in the behringer site?
should i load it in mcc mode ? or how to load the preset so that i
will be able to properly link it with cubase. can u please tell me in
detail?. sorry if i sound so naive. i know i am really dumb. this is
the first hardware i have got and have not got any experience in
using it. i have not even seen some one using it. if i use that will
i be able to control vst instruments parameter also? where can i
download this bcmanager from ?.there is no bc manager listed in the
behringer site?

i have downloaded all the templates from behringer site. really
breaking my brains to set bcf up in cubase sx3.
 please do help

i'm not absolutly sure, cause i switched from cubase to live a looong
time ago, and i never used a mackie (or emulation) with cubase.

but there a a few things to try:

1. use a virtual display like HuskerVu (or BCFView) if you work in
mackie emulation mode
2. then have a look at the matching emulation template from the
behringer document
http://www.behringerdownload.de/BCF2000/BCF2000_Emulation_modes.pdf

its the upper picture on page 4...

be sure to have the right emulation mode selected (MC C)

if you look close, you see that this template makes use of a 'lower
shift button' and an 'upper shift button' to give you three functions
for each control element.

you will see, that the 'learn' and the 'exit' button have the
functions 'send FX' 'inserts' and 'instruments'.

depending where in your signal way your plugin is, and depending
whether its a fx or instrument, you just hold the matching 'shift'
button and the 'learn' or 'exit' button.

a diplay app like huskerview or bcfview (never tried the second, cause
i've bcr) is absolutly recommended/needed for using mackie emulation
modes. it helps alot to navigate arround.

and i recommend you to print out the template-picture so you can
always have a look the different functions that are assigned to each
control element.

that should allready do the trick

bcmanager is available here in the files section ;)

and one more thing:

> ... sorry if i sound so naive. i know i am really dumb. this is
> the first hardware i have got and have not got any experience in
> using it. i have not even seen some one using it.

--------> this has nothing to do with 'being dumb' or shit like that..
its just a question of experience ;)
it's almost 'learning-by-doing' so you will get 'experienced' soon ;)
