[bc2000] PROTOOLS and PLUGINS

2009-06-17 by bambuotk@aol.com

Greetings, I have both bcr and bcf, I got the bcf to work with Protools
L.E. 8 and the bcr somewhat, what I mean is that some plugins wont work with
the bcr, I can get the Pro53 by NI to work but that's because its already
set for it, the presets are already built in the bcr for it but not for other
vst, anyone have a solution?

Hi James,

I didn't work so much with PT so i can't tell you what to do but
i set it up for Cubase/Nuendo and i tell you how it works there, so you maybe can find a solution for PTLE8.

first the tool for finding out whats happening on Midi is MidiOX and Midi Yoke on Windows.
If you work with Mac try to find a Midi monitoring tool to see which Midi commands are sent between Host and Controller.
Then look for a customize tool inside PT to assign the controls or otherwise adjust the BCR to fit the needs of PT plugins.
I don't know if this possible in PT cause they normally cook thier own soup. But have a try.

It depends in wich mode you are using the BCR (Native, Mackie Protocol,....).

In Mackie Protocol you can also use genmce - i think it can be found HERE -> http://shoshin.110mb.com/genmce/

good luck
