Casio VZ-1/10m preset?

Casio VZ-1/10m preset?

Has anyone made a BCR preset for the Casio VZ synths? Or at least have a sysex list of control strings for the VZ?

Cheers, Graham

OK i just found the VZ sysex parameter list. I put it up in the FILES section here for anyone wanting to build a VZ preset for the BCR (if I can figure out how to do it I will make one and upload it).

Cheers, Graham

Hi Graham,

Took a look at the files you posted and they confirmed what I had read elsewhere. On the vz1, you can only use sysex to move large blocks of data such as entire patches or global settings, there's no way to assign an individual parameter to a knob on the bc2000

You might be able to find a computer editor program for the vz1 that lets you copy an entire patch from the vz1 to the computer, edit the patch offline using cc messages from the bc2000, then load the edited patch back into the synth. I don't think real time editing with knobs can be done. I guess Casio thought the big display on the vz would make it easy to edit from the front panel

Hope this helps.

I have the same issue with the Yamaha PSS-680. There is editing software for that, but it uses large sysex dumps. The BCR2000 is useless for it.

This may have been common for some of the early Midi synths.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
