Bc2000 (for the BCF2000 & BCR2000)

First of all I want to say hello to all People here.

I am a new member of this great site (as ussualy with comunities on Yahoo musical sites).


I recently got BCR box primarily to control my Juno Alpha and later some soft synths.

My first impression is this is great device.

I joined to this group to  use all shared development so far for programming this device. Of course if I will get better at this I plan to share my archivments to maybe help others. But this is future.
For now I am in learning mode.

Now the problem. Maybe somebody can help on this.

At first I picked the PG-300 and MKS50 files and software like BC Manager.
I played with this for 2 days to get general idea. Of course some reading in background on MIDI implementation and BCL.

Before I explain the  issue  I want to thank all people who publish the files and gives advises. Otherwise I would not be able to learn.


When I loaded presets available from this site they simply did not work. 

Some encoders does something but it was far away from what I expected.

I started to analyse the files and I found that there is some MIDI channel inconsistency in files. Basically the Juno  should be put on channel 7 or 2 depending on file. My Juno was OMNI so this was not real problem.


I did then manual programming for some encoders (like cut off and resonance) by using LEARN. The result worked perfectly.

I compared the output text file of files from this site and dump from my manual setting. Except for MIDI channel the syntax  looks exactly the same.
But "manual Learn" setup  works while preset files from net dont.

Then I did another experiment. I dump my LEARN setup into sysex (and later  txt) and then reloaded it back to BCR exactly the same setup.
AND.... it didnt work!!! The symptoms are exactly like with loading presets from net.


The key questions:
To me it looks as when programming with LEARN BCR records much more parameters than we see in sysex/txt file later. SO when dumping those parameters into sysex we loose some key information. Reloading the same file (which was just dumped) brings not full information to BCR.

Anybody found simmilar observation problem. Is there an solution for this or I need to go manualy to program each parameter via LEARN???
