Preset up/down buttons quirk?

Preset up/down buttons quirk?

2010-05-19 by Johannes Stein

Hi everyone,
I just noticed something weird and would like to ask whether anyone knows if it can be fixed, or if I am doing anything wrong.
Here's what I am trying to do: Using the BCR with a mackie mode kind of preset, I try to use the preset up/down buttons as my ctrl and shift buttons. I set the BCR up accordingly using the BC-Manager application. Now I've set up Bome's to allow me to modify what some of the knobs do when I turn them while holding down shift or control, and the thing is that I don't seem to get any MIDI output for the knobs while holding down one of the preset buttons. It all works fine if I use any of the other buttons as my shift/ctrl. I know that normally when you hold down one of the preset up/down buttons and turn any knob, this lets you scroll through the presets, so my guess would be that this behavior has somehow not fully been disabled (but again, nothing happens at all--no preset change either). Using USB mode btw.
So, if anyone knows how to get this to work that would be great, as these two buttons would make for the perfect modifier keys!

Thanks,
Johannes

I've just run a quick test to emulate what you were trying to do.
I can only say that I completely agree with all your conclusions.
It's definitely a bug in the BCR (and presumably BCF); another one to add to the list...
I wasn't aware of this bug, so thanks for pointing it out!
However, I can't see a way to circumvent this bug.

Mark.
