another question, is it possible to get the pots and faders to react more smoothly? sometimes there is a big difference when i control a synth filter with the mouse and then with the bcf2000.... the mouse sounds alot more smooth! thanks

I think again this has more to do with midi data: for instante, I have configured as equalizers sets of 3 rotaries.
Rot 1=Cut&Boost (press=reset to 0)
Rot 2=Freq selector (press=reset to a certain freq, depending on the eq band)
Rot 3=Bandwidth (Q) (press=reset to 0)
Now, for the Cut&Boost or the Bandwidth controls I217;m quite happy with standard resolution, but for the Freq selector control, what you guys describe was happening: the resolution of the pot wouldn´t let me select certain frequencies and would jump through them more than any other thing. What I did was to configure THAT pot as a 14bit pot and give it a resolution of 20000 steps instead of the 127 that a standard midi pot resolution has. I works like a charm now.
To use a pot for a filter sweep, etc, you will have to adjust the relation between steps to get the right \u201cFeeling\u201d under your hand.
The BCF/BCR2000 have to be heavily configured to get them to be as great as there are (because believe me, they are great units), but again, for the price you pay I find it worth spending some days adjusting it to work the way I want it to work, for what I want it to work. Another option is also using any of the emulation modes. Mackie emulation works great for some things.

Yep, another problem, which I think arises from the same problem mentioned in your last email. If you move the fader/pot slowly, it will probably sound a lot closer to how it sounds when you move your mouse slowly, than the difference between how it sounds when you move both fast.
It's pretty sad, because even less expensive MIDI controllers have much more responsive faders/pots than those on my BCF2000. Behringer really had its head up its ass on this one, imo... motorized faders and LED lit rotaries are a great idea, but they're almost useless if they're not responsive.

how do you set higher resolutions?? (more than 127) i can´t use bcf edit since it wont save data to my unit... so i use bcrfredit instead... thanks how do

Yes, I see what you mean\u2026the thing is that the BC2000 pots can be configured in many ways. I saw a post once about a way to config them linearly or logarhythmically. The difference essentially is that if you have to move over a wide range of values, the log config would be more suited, whereas if you have to do smooth settings the linear one is more effective. The thing is that these units are so universal you really need to spend a bit of time setting them up to respond to your needs. I have 2 units configured completely differently because each has well defined functions. I wouldn\u2019t be able to use them the other way around because I would get a lack of response or inaccuracy. Of course, I\u2019m not saying you can\u2019t get better units, but for that price\u2026well I don\u2019t think you can J

You're right that audio driver/sound card latency doesn't affect MIDI latency... I just tested and what you said is true. I was mixed up.
But...
Try this experiment. Turn Rot 2 back and forth very fast, while playing a note. When I move my hand fast enough in a similar setup, the audio does not keep up with my hand movement. However, under the same conditions, if I use the midi control sliders on my kurzweil keyboard controller to control the same control, I can move my hand as fast as I want, and the audio follows my hand movements perfectly.
It's as if the the BC2000 reads the fader/knob position less frequently (in time) than my keyboard does for its sliders.
This is what I meant when I was talking about "unresponsiveness" and "choppyness" earlier.

All the steps for configuring the hardware are detailed in the manual. You don\u2019t need bcfedit. Although it might look easier, I find it very unreliable.

hi, when i set the post and faders at higher resolutions(2000) i it doesnt work, since i use sfp inverioment(www.creamware.com) and sfp can only accept values

Well at least you know that it’s a Creamware issue. Check on their site if they have new drivers and maybe send them an email. They might sort the prob for you\u2026..or not….but you never know\u2026

hi, when i set the post and faders at higher resolutions(2000) i it doesnt work, since i use sfp inverioment(www.creamware.com) and sfp can only accept values from 0 to 127.. and it seems like that is the only place ( in the sfp area) that i have the problem with choppy faders etc... in cubase sx , everything works fine!
