At my wits end

At my wits end

How do I get a bc2 file into the BCR2000 from my PC? BCR Edit is terrible. I've also tried the program on this forum but can't fathom it at all. Any help appreciated.

The bc2 file format is just a text file.

You need to load it in to either Mark's editor from his website
http://home.kpn.nl/f2hmjvandenberg281/
or my editor in the files section.
http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/bc2000/files/Applications/BCn2000%20Script%20Editor/

Both will load the file and send it to the BC.

If you are desperate you can use my editor (and probably true for Mark's as well) to load the bc2 file and then save the file as a sysex file and send it to the BCR using MidiOx or your sequencer.

Perhaps just start my program BCREditor.exe
Load in the file - File/Open Script
Press the button Save & Get
If you haven't selected a Midi In and Out already it will jump to the Midi Setup page. Select your Midi In and Out for the BC.
Press the Save & Get again.
The program should ask the BC for the Names of the presets inside the BC and list them for you. If it doesn't then you haven't connect the BC correctly. To check it is connected press the Refresh Patch List on the bottom of the Save & Get page.

If you don't want to save the patch to a memory location on the BC and just want to send to the temporary buffer press the Send button on the top right.
If you want to save it to a memory location so it will still be there the next time you start up the BC then...
Single click on the preset in the list of memory locations (patch names) to select where you want to write the bc2 file.
Press the button Store Patch.
The program should send it to the BC and the BC will overwrite whatever patch was in that location.
