win7 (64) will not recognize BCR2000

hi i tried plugging my bcr2000 into every port on my laptop and win7/64 always says "usb device not recognized"
i tried installing the 64bit 1.0.10 drivers from behringer website and it fails everytime
yes the bcr is set to usb mode (u-1
i have had this working before on a win xp machine a long time ago so i know its not the unit
not sure what else i can do?
