Morpheus ini on bc manager website

Morpheus ini on bc manager website

2017-09-03 by endoftheexpressway@...

Firstly, I am a relative newcomer to the BCR2000.
I have managed to use BC Manager to get Alpha Juno and Waldorf Pulse presets into the BC.
But I am having trouble loading the Emu Morpheus "ini" files that are on the BC Manager website.
How do I get these into my BCR?

Sorry if my question is rudimentary!
Thanks, Joe

Hi, I think I am responsible for that file.
It is not a full layout for the BCR2000, because there are so many parameters that you probably want to design your own. Rather it contains the sysex charts in BC format so you can easily map the knobs to the morpheus parameters. I was quite pleased that I figured out how to deal with mixed sign parameters, using a trick with checksums.

In BC Manager, when you are laying out your knobs and buttons, you can choose to insert a sysex parameter. Then, press the "open" button (third from left on mine) to show the folder where all the ini files are. There should be a-880 ini files etc already there. Just copy the morpheus ini files into that folder, and then you will be able to map all the morpheus parameters to your controls. Let me know how you get on. NB There is also a BC manager forum.

Unfortunately, the morpheus appears to only react to sysex parameter changes when a new note is pressed. So you can't, as far as I can tell, control complex filter-table sweeps from the BCR without also triggering lots of notes.

The Morpheus uses two types of 'patch cords" or modulation routings. The first, as fuljxtiofi7wsyklmpelcoppcniacpsgacaphjaj said, is only heard on a new note.
The other is changing the sound while the note is sounding.

Check out this Morpheus editor - this has been re-written for new Windows (post 3.1 !!) and also the source code is available.
This is my modified version where I have added an extra Midi input for keyboard to echo to the synth. You could use MidiOx to do the same thing, of course. I also added some dots to the 'pin patchboards' so I could see what I was changing a bit better.

All the best
Royce
