cool cool. thanks for the info. second part i am dealing with is that when plugged in, i get no signal. correction, i get practically no signal. most likely i have the pins on the jacks configured wrong, or the guy i got it from configured them wrong. the jacks are panel mount with 3 pins coming off them. the right pin (if the tip connector is at top) which goes to the plate with the screw, is what i am using for the ground, the middle terminal, which is in the middle sandwich of the jack as well, i am using for the signal, and the left terminal, which is in the top of the sandwich, i have nothing connected to. i am sorry if i am making this explaination more confusing than it should be. any help is appreciated. thank you all.

Those pads are to allow different sized capacitors to be installed. Nothing
else needs to connect to them.
