A matrix mixer is indispensable when doing complex feedback loops. For
example, take a sound through a series of filters, LPF, HPF, Phase
Shifter. Take each output to the matrix mixer. One mix goes back to the
input, one is the output mix. For added complexity, just take each
input and output to the matrix mixer. Watch out for feedback howls.
One additional trick, now take this feedback mix and put it to the Y
input of a ring modulator. Put your VCO or audio source to the X input.
This patch is documented in Barton McLean's manual to the Wavemaker 4,
and samples can be heard in Rick Petersen's mp3 files at my Wavemakers
web site: http://www.wavemakers-synth.com/wm_music.html .
