Hi all!
After much playing around, it seems to me that the 42TM018 won't do
the trick when followed by a simple makeup amp, though it was fine
without. The 42TM002 has a 10K primary and 2K secondary (the DC
resistance is about 600 ohms and 160 ohm respectively) and works
very well as does the smaller 42XL002. Mike Marsh's demo was done
with the latter.
The larger 42TM002 passes more top end than the 42XL002 in the dual
RM that I've built. Both sound really sweet though!
I still have a small pile of Ge diodes - ask and I'll send them free.
Thanks to Ken and Mike for making me revisit this circuit for audio,
too!
