Infinite Melody + 3 Diatonic converters + mods
2005-05-16 by allanjhall
Hi,
I've just posted a picture of my completed infinite melody module to
the Yahoo Photo's area in the Allan Hall folder. I've built the
Infinite Melody generator with all three Diatonic converter boards
into Doepfer rack format (but with +/- 15v power)
I've also added a single transpose input which controls all three
diatonic converters simultaneously at 1/v oct so that I can "play"
the major or minor scale randomness (and much more useful 1/f semi
randomness) to the three VCO's from a keyboard or sequencer - yummy!
I also added octave defeat switches on the three Diatonic converters
which disable higher octave address lines individally for each
diatonic converter, very useful.
It also has 4 mix pots from the Infinite Melody summed to single
output as suggested, however I added three way switches to each mix
pot so that I can enable / disable each output, but in addition the
switch has a "set" position which gives a logic high voltage to the
mix output via the pot - by switching off the other three mix pots
this makes it much easier set the individual intervals for each mix
pot. I find this mix output really useful for driving a fourth VCO
to create a bass line , I can select octaves, thirds, fifths etc by
using the four switches to control the bass while the other three
VCO's tinkle away in the higher registers - nice!
This has to be my all time favourite synth module, many thanks Ken!
