[CGS24] Gate to Trigger Converter troubles

2006-08-04 by p4kru

Hello all,

First message for me here. I'm now a long time reader of this group,
and own a small 100% DIY modular system.

I've built several CGS modules, but Actually have a problem on CGS24
gate to trigger convertion.

I've built this module to trig very simple AR enveloppes from charlie
lamm's website ("EZ-AR"). http://www.charlielamm.com/synth/miniar.php

When I built CGS24, it didn't worked at all. I thanks first it was due
to my doepfer CV/gate interface output voltage (0-5V). In fact, the
LM358 were faulty. The pulse appeared sometimes, 1 second after the
key was pressed.

I tried severall op amps (tl072/4558/358/2904/OPA2604) but only TL072
worked fine. Note I used 2 resistors in series (10K + 4.7K) instead of
the 15K one. It's really strange, cause many CGS use this schematics
to convert pulse to trigg conversion (Sequencers Reset, or Twin-T drum
simulators)

Now, when I apply a gate signal, I got 2 pulses:
One when the key is pressed, and the second when the key is depressed,
stronger than the first.. (I tried with and without output buffer
trannies)

The CSG (double) trig, my "dual Papareil ADSR", but not "EZ-AR" ones.

Any idea to prevent the double pulse ?
Why does it doesn't trigg "EZ-AR" EGs ?

Thanks for your help
~Fred
