strange burst generator behavior

strange burst generator behavior

2007-01-22 by startwave00

help!
this may be a simple fix but i can't figure out what's wrong...

here's the deal:
the output pulses work perfectly, except that extra pulses are created when i turn the rotary
knob. and these extra pulses always add upp to eight. for example, if the rotary knob is set
to two, a trigger will create two pulses, as it should. then when i turn the rotary knob to
anything else, six more pulses are triggered.

everything else behaves normally except that the end output, instead of being a pulse,
creates a gate that goes high (around 12v) and hangs there until retriggered.

these two are probably related?

any info would be greatly appreciated

thanks.

There is nothing wrong.

End remains high as long as the burstgen is at the end of its cycle.
As for the extra steps - when you move the switch, you disconnect
the "hold" line from the output that was activating it, so the
burstgen counts right round the "loop" until it finds the position
the switch has been moved to.
